Officials with the County of San Luis Obispo Office of Emergency Services said Saturday afternoon that all 131 sirens in the county are operating successfully after the Annual Early Warning System Siren Test.

"The system, which was sounded twice to test both the primary and backup activation points, operated seamlessly," said officials with the Office of Emergency Services in a press release sent to KSBY.

In the event of an emergency, the sounding of the sirens indicates that the Emergency Alert System has been activated and community members should tune into a local radio or television station to receive emergency information and instructions, according to county officials.
