An organization that teaches people living with disabilities how to hone their surfing skills and focus on their abilities through Adaptive Surf Therapy has been given a big boost in funds.

A $90,000 grant was awarded to AmpSurf by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the organization announced this week.

"These funds will be used to sponsor veterans to compete in adaptive surf contest, to put on our Adaptive Learn to Surf Clinics and to fund our VetSurf programs,” according to a press release.

With the mission of "Promote, Inspire, Educate and Rehabilitate,” AmpSurf says it works with not only veterans but also adults and children living with “lifelong conditions and disabilities that effect their daily life.”
