Monday is the first day the Santa Maria Elks will begin accepting applications for the annual Beard-A-Reno and Miss Wrangler Contests.
The contests are part of the festivities leading up to the Elks Rodeo at the end of May.
To enter either contest, you must be at least 21-years-old, and those entering the Beard-A-Reno contest must be clean shaven.
There are eleven whisker-growing categories, including Longest Beard, Blackest Beard, Whitest Beard, Reddest Beard, Best Goatee, Best Mustache, Best Sideburns, Best Attempt, Wildest, Best Western Characterization, and Best All-Around.
The registration fee is $25 and includes a barbeque dinner.
To enter, visit the Elks Rodeo Office located at 2325 Skyway Dr., Suite H, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday from February 3 to April 3.
Winners be announced at the dinner on Saturday, May 9.
