The 17th Annual Hospice Hoedown Fundraiser, held this past weekend at Hearst Ranch, raised $142,000 for the Wilshire Hospice music program.
The event featured a dinner, live music and an auction.
Wilshire Hospice provides clinical care, grief education and counseling, caregiver support, spiritual counseling, and other end-of-life services.
Money raised at the Hoedown Fundraiser will help the non-profit continue its music program, which employs several full-time musicians who visit with hospice patients and their caregivers, providing what Wilshire calls "medicine for the spirit."
