Another Downtown San Luis Obispo retailer is closing its doors for good.

Store closing sales are underway at Express.

The store at 887 Higuera St. has been open for years, offering men’s and women’s clothing and fashion accessories.

According to the company’s website, customers can get 50-70% off select items at this time.

Express has not responded to KSBY’s inquiries about the reasoning behind the closure or when the last day in business will be.

The store is located next to other businesses along Higuera Street that have closed this year, including Solstice, Papyrus and Beverly’s Fabrics.

As of Sept. 2, 11 downtown businesses had closed since March, but Downtown SLO said not all the closures were due to COVID-19 impacts.

In January, Express reportedly announced plans to close 31 stores nationwide by the end of the month and said another 100 mall locations would close by 2022.
