County officials in San Luis Obispo are looking for people to join the Civil Grand Jury.
The function of the SLO County Civil Grand Jury is to review and evaluate procedures, methods and systems utilized by local governments, both city and county, Special Districts, including school districts, to ensure they are operating efficiently, effectively, ethically and with transparency.
The Grand Jury is made up of 19 people selected from a pool of qualified candidates from throughout SLO County
The Civil Grand Jury is a judicially appointed independent investigative body created by the California State Constitution as one of two "regular" grand juries. The two different functions of the grand juries are classified as criminal and civil. Each of the 58 counties in the State of California has a Civil Grand Jury.
