Arroyo Grande city manager resigns; council appoints acting city manager

The Arroyo Grande City Council has named a new Acting City Manager and Deputy Acting City Manager.

A special meeting was held Friday after City Manager Jim Bergman handed in his resignation on Thursday, April 30.

It's unknown at this time why Bergman suddenly resigned.

The council voted to appoint Public Works Director Bill Robeson to the position of Acting City Manager and Community Development Director Whitney McDonald was appointed Deputy Acting City Manager.

Both will begin in their new roles immediately.
