Cal Poly alumni and Arroyo Grande native Evan Lallane was a special guest on the Ellen show Tuesday afternoon.

He spoke with Ellen DeGeneres about his inspiring recovery after a tragic fall while hiking Bishop Peak on Dec. 29, 2016.

The approximate 40-foot fall broke his neck and back, leaving him paralyzed from the waist down.

Now, Lalanne is going viral with his new invention as he skateboards around in his wheelchair.

His videos have been watched more than 100 million times and even shared by pro skateboarder Tony Hawk.

During the episode, DeGeneres shocked Lalanne with a once-in-a lifetime experience, bringing out Hawk.

The two were able to skate outside together, but the surprises were not over.

DeGeneres also gave Lalanne $10,000.
