Arroyo Grande police arrested a man suspected of burglary last week.

On Friday morning, officers were called to the 1000 block of Magnolia Dr. for a report of a burglary.

Police say officers reviewed home surveillance video of a man prowling through the neighborhood and looking through mailboxes earlier that morning and were able to identify the suspect as Jose Beas Ramirez, 29, a transient from San Luis Obispo.

Police say Ramirez was located later that day and a probation search revealed the stolen property from Magnolia Dr., along with other stolen items.

Ramirez was arrested and booked into San Luis Obispo County Jail on suspicion of burglary, theft, being under the influence of a controlled substance, and a couple of outstanding arrest warrants. His bail is set at $72,000.

The Arroyo Grande Police Department is encouraging any residents who had property stolen on or around September 6 to contact them at (805) 473-5117. Police say they are working to identify the rightful owners of the seized property that was found in Ramirez's possession.
