The Arroyo Grande Police Department has appointment an Acting Chief of Police.
Commander Michael Martinez has been appointed as Acting Chief of Police after Chief Beau Pryor retired on July 9th.
In a social media post, the City of Arroyo Grande said Commander Martinez is intended to be appointed as the city's new Chief of Police following approval by the city council.

Pryor says his retirement will allow him to spend more quality time with family and friends.
Pryor began his career with the Arroyo Grande Police Department in 1994 and was appointed chief in 2017.
