Arroyo Grande police are searching for a suspect that they say stabbed a man multiple times in the chest.
At about 10:51 p.m. Monday, officers responded to 425 S. Elm Street for a report of an assault with a deadly weapon. Officers were told the suspect went into a house, stabbed the victim and took off.
When officers got there, they found a man with multiple stab wounds to the chest.
Emergency personnel took the man to the hospital where he is currently being treated for life threatening wounds. Officers say the man is undergoing emergency surgery and is in critical condition.
Police are still looking for the suspect.
