Pottery Coast in Grover Beach is making sure the 5Cities Homeless Coalition has enough bowls for its upcoming Empty Bowls event.
The shop is pledging to make 350 bowls for the fundraiser next month.
So far, they've made 200 bowls.
At their studio on Wednesday, all 10 pottery wheels were filled with people making bowls.
The studio's owner says she looks forward to this event every year.
"It is a fun fundraiser. It is probably my favorite fundraiser of the year, so it is exciting. The bowls will be really beautiful, I think," said Susan Bass, Pottery Coast owner.
The studio did the same thing last year, but this time around they increased the number of bowls they wanted to complete from 300 to 350.
If they have any extra bowls, they'll save them for next year.
The 5Cities Homeless Coalition's Empty Bowls Community Luncheon is scheduled to take place from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 18 at St. Patrick's Parish Hall in Arroyo Grande.
For $25, attendees will receive a handmade bowl and a simple meal of soup and bread. Click here to purchase tickets.
