At least one person is dead after a vehicle fell at least 100 ft down a cliff Sunday morning on Highway 1 in Monterey County, CHP officers say.
According to the CHP Traffic Incident Information page, a red truck fell 100-125 ft down a cliff south of Gorda shortly before 10 a.m. First responders arrived on scene at about 10:30 a.m.
CHP officers say recovery efforts to get the truck out of the cliff may take "several hours."
An official is on scene investigating the crash, CHP says.
