Atascadero police are investigating a stabbing that occurred Monday evening.
It happened at about 6:30 p.m. in the area of El Camino Real and Highway 41.
Police say the stabbing was the result of an apparent road rage incident.
A male victim was reportedly stabbed in the chest and taken to the hospital. But before the suspect left the scene, police say the victim was able to take a picture of their vehicle and license plate.
Authorities later arrested Gary Wayne Benites, 67, of Templeton on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
As of 10:45 a.m., he was listed as being in custody at the San Luis Obispo County Jail with bail set at $25,000.
