The woman accused of stealing nearly $1 million from a Creston construction company is due in court Wednesday for arraignment.

Joy Noel Wilde, 41, faces 21 felony charges of grand theft by embezzlement and forgery.

Wilde reportedly worked as a bookkeeper for G. Wiemann Construction.

Between February 2016 and July 2019, authorities say Wilde forged and deposited 63 company checks totaling $975,000 into her own bank account.

Sheriff's officials say the owner of the construction company didn't discover the thefts until this past July.

Wilde was arrested last week and is in custody at San Luis Obispo County Jail with bail set at $200,000.
