The Charles Paddock Zoo in Atascadero is celebrating Lion King Day Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Zoo handlers will bring out education animals to meet the visitors. Several talks will be held to showcase animals featured in the Lion King movie.
The meerkat talk is at 10:30 a.m., hornbills will make an appearance at 11:30 a.m. and the bat-eared foxes will be out 12:30 p.m.
Handlers will also be feeding baby flamingos at 1:30 p.m.
The first 80 kids that visit the zoo will get a Lion King Activity Booklet.
All of the activities are included with the price of admission.
The Charles Paddock Zoo is one of 233 institutions accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA).
The zoo says it is dedicated to conservation, education and recreation for residents and visitors of the Central Coast.
The zoo has more than 200 animals and is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
