Authorities have identified the pedestrian struck and killed Friday night along Highway 101 in Santa Barbara as Mark Richard McDonald, 39.
The California Highway Patrol says he was hit in the southbound lanes, just north of the La Cumbre offramp around 6:10 p.m.
Investigators say McDonald was trying to cross from the center divide to the shoulder of the road at the time.
No other information was immediately available.
