ORIGINAL STORY: Authorities are looking for a 12-year-old believed to have run away from home on New Year’s Eve.

The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office says Alyssa Vanwyk was last seen Thursday around 1:30 p.m. near Grand Street in Nipomo and was wearing a multi-colored shirt and black leggings.

After receiving the missing person’s report, the sheriff’s office says deputies began searching the area.

Foul play is not suspected but authorities say Vanwyk is considered at-risk because of her age an may be in the Santa Maria area.

She’s described as being 5’2’’ tall, 90 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes.
