The City of Santa Maria says work on the Betteravia Rd./Highway 101 interchange is on track to be completed by the end of August.

The work began in June. It includes widening the southbound offramp, removing the concrete median on Betteravia, lengthening the westbound left turn lanes at the northbound onramp signal, and resurfacing the roadway.

The goal of the $900,000 project is to relieve traffic congestion and improve flow at the two ramps.

The city says remaining work includes slurry seal of the southbound offramp, new traffic lane striping and, a new traffic signal arm above Betteravia Rd., and a new signal head for the southbound offramp.
