UPDATE (1:15 p.m.) - Police have identified the bicyclist hit and killed by a semi-truck in San Luis Obispo on Friday as Salvador Cortez, 61.
Police say Cortez was traveling northbound on S. Higuera St. when he was struck by the truck as the driver was turning east onto Suburban Rd.
Cortez died at the scene.
Police say the accident is still under investigation and the truck driver has been cooperative.

(8:59 a.m.) - A bicyclist was killed after being hit by a semi-truck in San Luis Obispo Friday morning.
It happened around 7:20 a.m. on Suburban Road near Higuera Street.
The bicycle could be seen on the ground under the front of the truck.
Officials on scene say the bicyclist died.
