Another BlackHorse coffee shop location in San Luis Obispo is closed.
The doors were locked on the Foothill Blvd. store for a final time on July 24.
According to one of the store’s managers, the closure was not due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
They said the property was recently sold and the store’s owner only given a few days’ notice.
The last customer of the day was a regular who said he is sad to see this coffee shop close.
“It's sad to see change, it's sad to see things go,” San Luis Obispo resident John Edwards said. “I feel sorry for the employees and it's the people that work here that make the BlackHorse. This was like my neighborhood pub and it's not a big cooperate coffee place, but it has a lot of character and it's a shame to see that happen."
It’s the second BlackHorse location to close in San Luis Obispo.
At the start of the year, a location on Los Osos Valley Road closed.
At the time, the owner said it was time for him to back off just a little and do some consolidation as he owns other businesses.
BlackHorse still has two other locations in San Luis Obispo, one on Broad Street and another on Higuera Street downtown.
