Santa Barbara County Sheriff's deputies arrested a Buellton man early Wednesday morning after they say he assaulted his spouse and barricaded himself inside a home.
It happened at about 12:40 a.m. in the 500 block of Central Avenue.
Sheriff's officials say Gaston Tapia, 24, also threatened his family and fired a handgun into the air.
After several calls to his cell phone, deputies were reportedly able to convince Tapia to exit the house and surrender.
Deputies searched the house and sheriff's officials say they found assault weapons, a handgun and ammunition inside.
Tapia was arrested on suspicion of threatening crime with intent to terrorize, preventing or dissuading a witness, domestic violence, possession of a large capacity magazine, and discharging a firearm in a negligent manner.
