UPDATE (4:30 p.m.) - The Topaz Fire burned 115 acres. Officials confirmed it was not caused by California Valley solar farms. An investigation is ongoing.
UPDATE (3:00 p.m.) - The Topaz Fire is 100% contained. Crews remain on scene. The cause is under investigation.
UPDATE (1:35 p.m.) - The Topaz Fire is now 15 - 20 acres with a moderate rate of spread. Air attack crews are on scene. Additional resources have been requested to fight the fire.
One structure is now reported threatened.
CAL Fire SLO responded to a 2 acre vegetation fire Friday afternoon off Highway 58 near Helios Way in California Valley.
Officials said the Topaz Fire is spreading in grass at a slow rate with the potential to grow 100 acres.
One engine arrived on scene around 1:30 p.m.
There are no reports of any injuries or threatened structures.
