Cal Poly has announced the death of one of its student.
The university informed the campus community this week that fourth-year computer science student Jake Worden of Santa Clarita died in San Luis Obispo on Christmas.
“Sharing news like this - which is being done, as always, after consultation with our student's family - is never easy. It is especially hard when we are not together as a community to be there for each other,” the university said in the release.
Cal Poly officials have reportedly been in close contact with Worden’s family.
A cause of death has not yet been released.
