Highway 101 will be closed intermittently Sunday morning in Nipomo.
Caltrans officials say drivers will be stopped in both directions between Joshua Road and South Thompson Road between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m.
CHP will help manage traffic so utility wires can be moved with a helicopter across the highway.
A crew from PG&E will be conducting the work under permit from Caltrans.
