Posted at 5:15 PM, Mar 17, 2020

Caltrans District 5 and the California Transportation Foundation (CTF) are offering five $1,000 scholarships to college-bound seniors. The scholarships will be given to students within the five-county district (Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, Monterey, Santa Cruz, and San Benito counties).

Applications must be submitted by April 17, 2020. The 2020 scholarships will be awarded this summer.

The scholarship program is designed for senior high school students who are planning to pursue a career in transportation and live within the five counties of the district.

These scholarship programs are in most of the 12 Caltrans districts and have the encouragement and support of the California Transportation Foundation which donates 50 percent of the award. The rest of the funding comes from coffee and food sales.
