Charges have been dropped against a man CHP said crashed into a café in Cambria more than three years ago, injuring multiple people, according to the DA’s office.

Jeremy Preston was arrested following the February 2017 crash on Main Street.

CHP says he was under the influence when his truck slammed into a parked truck near Burton Drive and then also hit another parked car.

Two of the vehicles crashed into a nearby bakery, injuring five customers.

The San Luis Obispo County District Attorney’s Office on Tuesday said a significant amount of new discovery, including hundreds of pages of documents, was provided by the defense counsel earlier this year, which “created reasonable doubt as to the criminal culpability of Mr. Preston” and a judge ultimately dismissed the case.
