UPDATE (11:45 p.m.) - The California Highway Patrol says this is a major injury collision.
The crash happened in San Luis Obispo County off Los Osos Valley Road bear West Foothill Blvd. at approximately 10:30 p.m. Saturday night.
CHP confirmed at least one person suffered major injuries. One person was transported to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center, but the extent of injuries are unknown at this time.
Officers are still on scene investigating. Los Osos Valley road was closed in both directions while personnel worked to get the patients out of the vehicles after the head-on collision.
CHP is working to get the scene cleared to allow drivers to pass.
The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office, CAL FIRE SLO and the San Luis Obispo City Fire Department responded to the crash.

ORIGINAL ( 10:34 p.m.) - The California Highway Patrol is currently on scene of a head-on collision off Los Osos Valley Road and West Foothill Blvd. in San Luis Obispo.
According to the CHP Traffic Incident Page, the reporting party stated there was a vehicle behind her that tried to pass her and collided head-on with an on-coming car.
One person has been transported to Sierra Vista Hospital.
Both sides of traffic have been stopped as not all occupants of the vehicles have been located.
