The California Highway Patrol is seeking witnesses to a crash that killed a pedestrian in Nipomo last week.
It happened at about 6:15 p.m. Friday at Tefft Street and Oakglen Avenue.
The California Highway Patrol says a 53-year-old man was on the corner waiting to walk across the street at the same time a driver was heading northbound on Oakglen.
The driver, identified as a 29-year-old Nipomo man, had a green light and turned left onto Tefft Street, according to CHP.
Officers say the pedestrian stepped into the crosswalk at the same time, directly in front of the car and was hit.
The pedestrian was taken to the hospital where he later died. His name has not yet been released.
CHP says it’s not known at this time if drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.
The driver was not hurt or arrested.
