The California Highway Patrol Coastal Division Air Operations has released new aerial footage of a stolen vehicle pursuit on Highway 101 and Highway 166 Friday.
The 10-minute video features highlights from the chase, which lasted nearly an hour.
CHP says the pursuit started in Pismo Beach around 12:30 p.m. Friday after officers reportedly tried to stop a black Ford pickup truck that had been reported stolen.
The pursuit continued down Highway 101 southbound when the driver of the stolen vehicle turned onto Highway 166 eastbound.
The driver led CHP right near Rock Front Ranch onto Sierra Madre Rd., which is a dirt road in the Los Padres National Forest.
Officers say the driver eventually crashed on the side of the road and began running away from officials. He was later captured after a foot chase.
CHP arrested the driver of the stolen vehicle.
