UPDATE (3:59 p.m.) - A 20-year-old man from Paso Robles was taken to the hospital with major injuries after a crash on North River Road.
It happened at about 2:30 p.m. Monday.
The California Highway Patrol says the man was driving northbound at a high rate of speed and when he came to a curve in the road, drifted off the roadway, overcorrected, and lost control of his car.
The car crashed through a wire fence and rolled into a field.
CHP says the man was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle.
Officers are investigating the cause of the crash and say distracted driving may have been a factor.

(3:03 p.m.) - Emergency officials are responding to a rollover crash in Paso Robles.
It happened Monday afternoon in the 4400 block of North River Road.
Just one vehicle was reportedly involved.
The California Highway Patrol is asking people to avoid the area.
