UPDATE: Firefighters extricate driver following crash in San Luis Obispo

San Luis Obispo City firefighters responded to a single vehicle crash on Highway 101 in San Luis Obispo.

Firefighters say one person was involved in the crash.

It took fire officials approximately 30 minutes to extricate the driver from the vehicle. That driver suffered moderate injuries.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

California Highway Patrol responded to a crash along Highway 101 in San Luis Obispo early Wednesday morning.

The crash happened at around 4:20 a.m. on northbound Highway 101 just north of the Prado Road off-ramp.

According to CHP, a single vehicle went through a fence and is approximately 30 feet off the road.

As of 5 a.m. first responders are working to clear the scene.

The number of people involved in the crash and the extent of their injuries is unknown at this time.
