A pedestrian spotted walking in the center divide of Highway 1 near the California Men's Colony disrupted traffic for a short time Tuesday morning.
The man was reported walking in the roadway just before 9 a.m.
The California Highway Patrol responded and ran traffic breaks as a precaution while the man ran back and forth across the lanes.
He eventually ran into a field and officers lost sight of him.
CHP says the man was not an inmate.
