City of Goleta working on first strategic plan to end homelessness

The City of Goleta is moving forward with its first-ever Homelessness Strategic Plan. The City aims to guide and coordinate efforts to prevent and address homelessness within the City of Goleta and surrounding areas.

There will be a community meeting to address homelessness on February 19, 2020 from 6–8 p.m. at the Goleta Valley Community Center located at 5679 Hollister Avenue.

The City is seeking public input on the creation of this homelessness eradication plan and is seeking input from residents, businesses, service providers, and those who are or who have experienced homelessness. Each attendee will be asked for solutions and share which options they prefer.

City staff are also still taking responses to a survey that the City released in December of 2019. Responses are requested through February 9, 2020.
