The "Colors of Conservation 2026" exhibit is underway this weekend at the historic Octagon Barn Center in San Luis Obispo, presented by the Land Conservancy of San Luis Obispo County and SLOPE.
The annual event brings together local artists and conservation advocates to celebrate the county's open spaces through landscape art. Organizers say the show is the largest collection of original landscape art focused on lands protected by the conservancy, including open spaces, ranches, and preserves.
The exhibit is being held in the Milking Parlor at the Octagon Barn Center, located at 4400 Octagon Way in San Luis Obispo. Saturday's hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
A live pastel demonstration with Hawthorne is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 8 at 2 p.m. in the exhibit space.
Original artwork and prints are on display and available for purchase, with a portion of sales benefiting the Land Conservancy. Last year's event raised more than $10,000 for conservation efforts.
