Efforts are underway to create a memorial bench for a Cal Poly employee who was killed back in July.
Monica Cantu, a custodial manager at Cal Poly, died while trying the help the victim of a wrong-way driver crash on Highway 101 in Paso Robles.
The memorial bench has been approved by the Landscape and Facilities Department, now $5,000 is needed to get the bench in place.
