Work is nearly complete on a new jail in Santa Maria.
Construction on the County of Santa Barbara Northern Branch Jail started back in 2016. We're learning it's scheduled to be done at the end of June.
The weather caused some delays in the building process. Once open, it'll have 376 beds for inmates.
"It's definitely a big project and quite a challenge. It's a lot of moving pieces and parts in this facility but you know it's slowly coming together and we expect to have it operational sometime late this summer," said John Green, County of Santa Barbara Senior Project Manager.
The project has a price tag of $110,000,000.
