Lompoc Police arrested a suspect who was COVID-19 positive and then booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail with precautions.
According to a Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office press release, the inmate claimed to be COVID-19 positive, where they were then taken to the hospital to be tested. After testing positive, the inmate was then booked into the negative pressure housing area.
This brings the total of inmates testing positive for COVID-19 to 11. Seven inmates are currently being treated, one has recovered, and three inmates have been released from custody.
