The new location is at Hollister Village, 7070 Hollister Avenue.
The center is meant to provide convenient access to treatment for minor injuries and illnesses. It accepts patients who are age six months and older.
Staff will be made up of Cottage providers including a licensed nurse practitioner, a radiology technician and clinical concierges.
Patients can be treated for the following conditions:
- cold and flu symptoms
- scrapes and minor cuts
- minor burns
- sprains
- allergies
- earaches
- urinary infection
- skin complaints or rash
- foreign object in eye or nose
- other minor ailments or injuries
On-site services also include x-rays, lab services and physical examinations for sports participation.
Patients who require attention for more serious medical conditions may be referred to an emergency room or local physician.
The center has the goal of limiting wait times to 30 minutes. It also offers expanded hours from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. Walks-ins and online appointments are available.
It will be open 365 days a year and is the first of 10 planned Cottage Health Urgent Care facilities to open to patients in the tri-county region from San Luis Obispo to Camarillo.
Additional Cottage Urgent Care centers will be opening this summer, including at the Oxnard Esplanade and Santa Maria on North Broadway.
Cottage Health also offers a virtual care service called 'CareNow' for online visits.
