A SIG Alert was issued for the northbound lanes of Highway 101 Tuesday morning due to a crash in the Santa Margarita area.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened at about 8:30 a.m. north of the Highway 58 interchange when a big rig and another vehicle collided, causing the semi to jackknife.
Officers were running breaks halfway up the grade and the road was expected to be blocked until about 9:30 a.m., according to dispatch reports.
No word on the extent of any injuries.
