UPDATE (3:25 a.m.) - CHP says there are major injuries as a result to the crash. It is unknown if both people sustained major injuries.
According to Caltrans officials, all westbound lands of Highway 46 in Shandon are now open.

ORIGINAL STORY (9:23 a.m.) - The westbound lanes of Highway 46 were closed near the Shandon rest area Sunday morning due to a crash.
It happened at about 6:15 a.m. just east of Centre St.
According to the California Highway Patrol, two vehicles - a car and semi truck - were involved.
CAL FIRE SLO reported two people were injured.
As of 7:36 a.m., the semi remained on its side, blocking both lanes.
The road remained closed as of 9:22 a.m.
No other information was immediately available.
