Emergency crews were responding to a crash Friday on Highway 166 east of Santa Maria.
It happened at about 11:30 a.m. just west of Bull Canyon Rd.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a pickup attempting to make a U-turn was struck by a semi hauling oil.
The extent of injuries is unknown at this time.
At least one lane of traffic was affected.
