A new dog park is in the works for Los Osos and community leaders are asking for the public's input on its design.

The tentative location is a vacant plot of land along Palisades Avenue near the tennis courts at Los Osos Community Park.

The concept of a dog park in Los Osos dates back to the 90s. Now, the next steps toward making it a reality include finalizing the design details like fencing, landscaping and parking.

The Los Osos Community Services District Parks & Recreation Committee is asking that residents submit their thoughts on the design by visiting the LOCSD's website.

"It's the first time we've had a solid conceptual plan and what I would urge people, whether you're a Los Osos resident or someone who may want to come to Los Osos and utilize the dog park, go on to the district's website and please comment on the conceptual plan," said Ron Munds, Los Osos Community Services District General Manager.

The Parks & Recreation Committee will discuss the feedback received at their next meeting on Tuesday, March 17 at 5:30 p.m.
