Deckers Burgers announced in a Facebook post it is permanently closing its location in the Santa Maria Town Center Mall.
The company attributed the closure to financial hardships due to COVID-19.
The restaurant was replaced with a Mexican-style seafood restaurant called Culichi's Restaurant.
"I know this is not a good time to open a business but it's better to do something right now because it's gonna be better in a couple months for sure," said Jesus Martinez, owner and chef of Culichi's Restaurant.
The Santa Maria Town Center Mall reopened to the public on June 1.
