UPDATE: 2 Fresno homicide suspects arrested in Avila Beach

UPDATE (Feb. 4, 2021) - The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office has identified two people arrested Wednesday night in Avila Beach as Davon Thomas, 21, and Emanuel Johnson, 23, both of Fresno.

Sheriff's officials say the two were wanted on suspicion of homicide by the Fresno Police Department.

UPDATE (9:45 p.m.) - San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's deputies have detained a wanted suspect in the Avila Beach area.

According to the sheriff's office, a male subject and two other people were detained near the San Luis Bay Inn shortly after 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Authorities say the male is a wanted suspect from out of the area, but at this time it is unknown what he is wanted for. The other two people detained are believed to be involved.

It is unknown at this time if the suspect was armed. Deputies say there is no further risk to the public.

A law enforcement presence remains on the scene near the inn as the investigation is ongoing.

(7:07 p.m.) - San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's deputies respond to reports of a disturbance at the San Luis Bay Inn in Avila Beach Wednesday evening.

Authorities with the sheriff's office say a call came in at around 5:27 p.m. of reports of a disturbance at the inn. Deputies believe it may be a wanted suspect from out of the area.

As of 7 p.m. deputies are working to make contact with the individual, and have the inn blocked off to keep anyone from entering or leaving.

Law enforcement is asking community members to stay clear of the area.
