Deputies surround Orcutt Burgers restaurant after false reports of man with gun

UPDATE (6 p.m.) - The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office says reports of a man with a gun inside Orcutt Burgers restaurant in Orcutt Friday evening turned out to be false.

Sheriff's officials say deputies responded to the area and shut down the intersection after a witness at nearby 7-Eleven reported seeing a man with a gun inside the restaurant.

Authorities were able to get the man to come outside where officials say it was determined the possible gun was only a cell phone.

ORIGINAL STORY: Authorities surrounded the Orcutt Burgers restaurant on E. Clark Ave. in Orcutt Friday evening, and as of 5:30 p.m., the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office told KSBY News that a subject was being detained.

Viewers reported seeing various law enforcement personnel inside and outside of the building. A K-9 was also on scene.
