Detectives seize illegal drugs, ammunition, firearms from Lompoc home

A Lompoc man is facing charges after detectives seized illegal drugs, several hundred rounds of ammunition and six firearms Thursday.

Detectives with the Sheriff's Office Special Investigations Bureau served a search warrant near Capella and Constellation Road, and other warrant near Brian Creek Way, down the road from Walmart.

Officials say authorities seized eight pounds of methamphetamine, one ounce of brown heroin, one ounce of tar heroin, and several grams of fentanyl, as well as the ammunition and firearms.

John Carothers, 59-years-old from Lompoc, was arrested and book at the main jail.

He faces felony charges for possession of methamphetamine for sale, possession of heroin for sale, possession of fentanyl for sale, felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, possession of an assault weapon, and possession of a silencer.

Carothers is being held on $300,000 bail.
