Doc Burnstein's Ice Cream Lab is about to open its first shop in Northern California.
The ice cream parlor will hold a grand opening celebration on Saturday, September 28 in Chico.
Doc Burnstein's is taking over a former Cold Stone Creamery location on Broadway and 2nd Streets in the city's downtown area.
It will be the company's fourth ice cream parlor. Doc Burnstein's currently has locations in Arroyo Grande, San Luis Obispo and Santa Maria, and its ice creams are sold at several other businesses in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties, as well as in Kettleman City and Fresno.
In March, the company announced plans to eventually expand to 100 ice cream parlors with a goal of becoming a national ice cream brand.
