Students in the Guadalupe Union School District will be able to take part in after school sports this year thanks to an anonymous donor.
District officials say the donation allows TK through 8th grade students the opportunity to participate in soccer, basketball and flag football free of charge.
"This unexpected generosity is so special because it provides a healthy and safe after school opportunity for so many children in our community,'' said superintendent Emilio Handall in a press release. "This anonymous donor will positively impact hundreds of children's lives for this entire school year."
The soccer season kicked off last week and has about 100 students enrolled so far.
The district has not said how much the donation was for, but calls it a "victory" for all its students.
