Community members and local businesses came together to support the first ever downtown dream day on Monday.

Many businesses in Downtown San Luis Obispo are donating a percentage of their sales to help dreams come true for terminally ill adults.

The dream team from Delta Sig business fraternity at Cal Poly served as ambassadors for the non profit.

They hit the streets in bright red shirts guiding people to participating stores and telling the dream makers story.

"We definitely do feel that as we are walking around the streets and businesses the people who come up to us and ask us what its all about really love the fact that it helps people in the community specifically, says Dream Team member Carolyn Lidster, "the local businesses will do anything to support the community around them and that's a really incredible feeling."

The non profit plans to keep KSBY updated on the profits they made for their first event.

Some of the businesses who participated include Criki Tiki, Blast Pizza, Jamba Juice and Scout.
